The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood

The Birthing Kit Foundation
An Australian organisation dedicated to improving the conditions for women who give birth at home in developing countries.The birthing kit addresses the 7 cleans needed for a safe delivery. The kits are basic with 6 items. A plastic sheet, soap, 2 gloves, sterile scalpel blade, 3 cords and 5 gauze squares.

Canadian Global Health, Nutrition and Disease Prevention Initiatives
Canada's $1.1 billion in new funding over five years will be focused along three key paths: Strengthening health systems to improve health service delivery at the local level by training more health workers and expanding access for mothers and children to needed health care facilities and care at the local level. Addressing the diseases and illnesses that are the leading causes of mother and child mortality. Improving nutrition by increasing access to healthful and nutritious food and needed nutritional supplements that help reduce mortality

The Eliminate Project
Kiwanis International’s global campaign for children, Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus, will save or protect millions of mothers and their future babies. In partnership with UNICEF, Kiwanis is eliminating MNT, a disease that kills one baby every nine minutes, by vaccinating women of child-bearing age. UNICEF and its partners have already eliminated MNT in 20 countries, and Kiwanis’ pledge to raise US$110 million will help fund the elimination of the disease in the countries that remain at risk.

The Institute for Health and Social Policy at McGill University investigates the policy decisions that affect the life chances of children and adults around the globe
